A labyrinth of trails wind through lower Sumas Moutain, quite close to the suburbs. But you wouldn't know it, being immersed in the woods where concave sandstone cliffs were shaped by the timeless flow of water.

I thought I'd seen most of the trails below McKee Peak but Christa proved me wrong. We parked on McKee Rd on the east side of Ledgeview golfcourse.

A 4-way junction.

The Ambidextros trail did a long narrow switchback, following alongside the cliffs.

Most of the old boardwalks were covered in flip-proof chicken sire.

What makes this hike more challenging, is that most of the downhill is in the first half. The return trails are a steep ascent -- southwest.

Sumas Prairie -- southeast to south.

Chilliwack in the distance.

The meadow just past the tower -- southwest.

At the meadow we branched off to the right on a narrow trail.

I'm not sure what the first part of the trail was called (upper center), but from there we stayed right on the Ranch Climb, to Lower Ambidextros to Autoban to Xcellerator, then up to Mt. Uppity before getting back on the final stretch.
Looks like a gorgeous hike.
