Lynn Lookout

The Lynn Peak Trail is in North Vancouver in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.

It's a rough, rocky & rooty steep trail. Stats: 12 km / 835m gain / 927m high / 4.5 hours MT

As we gathered by the outhouses before beginning our journey for the day, back lit steam floated off of the museum’s roof. This historic museum was purchased in 1908 by Captain Henry Pybus of the Timber & Trading Co. It was the first prefabricated house in the North Shore. It later became a school and then was moved to its present site in 1998 where it became a museum. Since then hikers have brought logging artifacts to it, that were found in the woods. It’s open on Sundays from 11:00 – 3:00.

About halfway up we came to this area where the ground plateaued and these old growth giant Cedars & Douglas fir dominated the forest. (3 pic slider)

This was also the area where it was time to put on our micro-spikes. We couldn't have reached the lookout without them.

A short side trail led to this view of Mt. Fromme to our west.

Views from the top of the mighty Fraser River, Vancouver and the island on the horizon. pic 1) this raven didn't want his buddies to get any of my seed-covered-crusts so he managed to squeeze them all into his beak!

Heading back down...

End of the Earth cafe is right at the beginning of the road with the yellow gate that leads to the parking lots.

So pleased to have made Iago, it is always a little tricky to make out the trail, glad you stuck to your guns.
