March 5 - We popped out for an afternoon to check out Flood Falls with our two remaining Dutch guests. Take exit 165 east-bound off of Hwy.1 by Hope, staying right and then a quick left.

This is a short easy trail.

Cousins and best of friends.

When these falls freeze, they're used for ice-climbing.

This was the only mask left up in the trees. I saw some that had been broken.

Back at the parking lot, the lights were still on in this car. I thought it was abandoned till we saw it had a passenger.

Evening light on the Cheam Range.
Feb. 11 - A romp up the steep trails on the northwest side of Cultus Lake by Main Beach.
Stats: 8.7 km / 500m gain / 457m high / 2.5 hours MT

We started walking from Charlotte's place, then onto the Ditch Chicken trail, then to Mexican Ninja from which we did a short steep side trail to the Ruby's Knoll viewpoint. After lunch we went back to the junction and then right on the Mexican Ninja where the trail curved round to descend via Old Broke Back and the Lake Trail.

This Christmas tree remains decorated year round, year after year.

Chilliwack River Valley and the waterslide park to the left.

A great way to unwind, in Charlotte's hot tub.
