Family & Festivities

Jeanette and her family arrived Dec. 22st. We made a 4:00pm appointment for this rare occasion when our children and grandchildren get together for that once-a-year group shot.

Grandbaby number 13 is in the oven but soon to come out (Jeanette).

Trying to get a photo of all twelve in which they're all looking? Nope. Not going to happen. The 5 minutes it took to get the family photo was long enough for them.

Us and our children. Renee was telling me, "Mom, get down!" Hence the bending position.

I found these two, Julianne & Zoe trying on my vintage hats.

The usual Friday-night-pizza crowd was quite small due to the beginning of the Christmas holidays. So we invited the guys to our house instead of eating outside in the cold.

Penelope helping daddy give Willow a bath.

Natalie rocking in the chair.

Getting our barn prepped for concrete.

A walk through our back field.

Doing Oma duty. Neil is half a year younger than Natalie but he's heavier and other than his limbs, he's bigger.

Dec. 23 we treated the family to Glow in Langley. Last year the kids loved it. So we did it again.

It didn't take long and Julianne disappeared! We frantically spread out in search of her. Corwin found her in the first barn we'd walked through, just looking around. Not a worry in the world.

This merry-go-round did not actually move. But the kids still had fun sitting on the horses.

Back in the first barn we had dinner. This was also where the playground and train rides were.

They loved the Glow cups that flickered lights while you drank from them.

Dec. 24 -- This is when we always do our turkey dinner and gift opening afterwards. That way our children can spend Christmas with their in-laws.

Finally the time came to open those gifts. Christmas is so much more fun with little ones.

Hank was happy with his straw.

Dec. 26 - We invited my extended family over for the evening. I kept it simple, ordering 6 pizzas and then doing finger foods for the adults throughout the evening. It was so nice to have my brother, Rick and Arlene over from the island. Sisters, Sylv and Wendy and Jerry also came, not to mention 5 nieces and nephews with their families.

Not sure what the joke was about here?

Some portrait shots:

Jeanette & Willem and the boys: Hank, Scott & Case. #4 is due to be born mid January. He's another boy!

Nick & Renee + Natalie, Amy, Zoe & Roger.
