Camping at Cultus with Corwin's Clan

Updated: Apr 12, 2021

April 9 - 10: This year will probably be the last opportunity we have to camp on our 68 acre property at the west end of Cultus Lake. We hope to begin developing it next year. Our son, Corwin and his family were there as well. Plus a few friends of his.

Gerrit joined us for breakfast.

Kathleen wanted to say good morning to me from the window by her bed.

Gerrit loves throwing rocks in the water. The bigger the better.

I'd never really scouted out our property before. We found 3 short trails leading to the river running through our property. This is a Salmon Berry.

Trevor is Corwin's right-hand-man at work. The kids know him quite well.

Daddy cutting up firewood -- the fast way.

I decided not to follow them here. Way too slippery and I didn't have my poles.

So I walked up our access road and then turned left onto an overgrown FSR. That's Cultus Lake.

The road led to this clearing. I then took an animal track which got me to another overgrown FSR.

This FSR had a few batches of daffodils growing along side it and led back down to the river.

Right beside the river was this broad clearing surrounded by trees. A nice place to camp.

Back at camp.

The river runs right by our campsite.

These two are only two months apart in age and are good friends. That's what happens when their parents are also good friends.

Those are a combination of truly beautiful photographs and precious ones, Jocelyn.
