Bear Mt

January 26, 2025 -- Agassiz

Stats: 17.77 km / 1065m gain / 1101m high / 4:55 hours MT -- Harrison

This was a longer hike but not a particularily difficult one. Most of it is on a deactivated FSR therefore the grade is more gradual. Eye popping views to the south are not exposed till the very end of the trail when you emerge from the forest.

The ascent on the west-facing slope remained in the shadows all morning.

One hour / 745m ascent / 4.56 km in and we came to this viewpoint of Harrison River & Lake -- west.

The last quarter of the route required mircro-spikes on the snow & ice.

We ran into the Hiker Babes. One of them ended up having to be air-lifted out, having hit the side of her head on the protruding stump of a branch on a fallen tree.

The last 20-minutes were on a trail.

The Cheam Range -- south.

Sumas Praire -- west.
